In an interview Hajime Tabata had with the French Site Jeuxvideo.
He was very positive about releasing a PC version of Final Fantasy XV, but it would make the project difficult. Reasons being that having a PC version would propel the game to another technical level. Such as more graphical features, and other things like that.
He goes on to say that they could incorporate things that were cut because of the current-gen consoles. This would be their opportunity to release a version that is far superior in quality and the tech used in the game, and that if this was to happen they’d have to start from scratch as a simple console port is not good enough.
This is a great way to look at multi platform releases as now the games are all shown in their best light for each platform which is what it should be, and not being downgraded to the lowest common denominator (We’re looking at you CDProjektRed).
We are excited for the release for Super Joystick, and can’t wait to see what Square Enix is going to bring to the table in terms of a PC release.
