According to sources from Eurogamer, the Nintendo Switch will be supporting a 6.2″ 720p screen which is a bit on the low side, but to house the entire console inside the handheld there needs to be some sacrifices.
Nintendo has yet to comment on this article, but we’ve reached out for comments, and will update this article with any response. The screen is said to be 10-point multitouch so it is believed that there will be use of screen gestures like there are in mobile games current, and a bit like the ones used on the PS4 Touchpad.
There is yet to be a reason behind why they didn’t show the touch screen off during their reveal trailer. They might have not wanted that to be the main focus of the trailer minimizing the impact that the trailer had if people would link it to being just another tablet.

There with the touchscreen rumor was also with the fact that the right JoyCon controller on the NX houses a IR sensor which would be used to recreate some basic touchscreen functionality, as there is also a sensor at the Switch’s dock.
Nintendo will have a media briefing on the 13th of January where they will most likely be talking about system features, the exact release date, and the software launch line-up.
