At GDC, Sulon a startup from Toronto unveiled a teaser of the company’s newest venture in to Virtual and Augmented Reality with the Sulon Q, the world’s first and only all-in-one, tether-free, “wear and play” headset for virtual reality, augmented reality, and spatial computing.
Some of the big highlights for the headset are:
- Being wireless as all the hardware is inside the headset.
- Able to do both AR/VR at the same time.
- Spatial computing, redirection and Audio.
- AMD FX-8800P processor at up to 35W with Radeon™ R7 Graphics leveraging AMD’s Graphics Core Next architecture. Supporting DX12 and Vulkan.
This was a surprise announcement and we are excited to see where it goes and if there are more people to follow. We are for certain sure that this is what direction Googles next iteration of the Google Cardboard is going to be taking, and this would be adding a new mid range tier to the VR/AR Market competing with Gear VR and Google Card board.
We will be watching GDC for any more exciting news stories to come.
