Nintendo shipped a free Star Fox update for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 30. Version 1.2.0 adds three Battle Mode stages and local four-player split-screen.
The new stages are Katina, Sector X, and Venom. From September 30 through October 19 at 16:59, those stages have a slightly higher chance of coming up in random matches.
How the new Battle Mode works
One Switch 2 can now host up to four players in split-screen. Each player needs a controller. Split-screen groups can also queue into online matches as a team.
The same day, Nintendo Music added the full Star Fox soundtrack. Nintendo says the in-game tracks are new arrangements performed by an orchestra. Listening requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Nintendo Today! is also handing out origami sheets for the Arwings flown by Fox, Falco, Slippy, and Peppy, with folding steps in the app.
